The last remaining unflown space shuttle external fuel tank, ET-94, arrived at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on May 21 after a 41-day journey that began at NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
The tank will eventually be mated to space shuttle Endeavour, which is currently on display at the science center's Samuel Oschin Pavilion. A pair of solid rocket boosters will be added, and the completed vehicle will be rotated into upward into launch position.
This timelapse covers ET-94's 19-hour trip from Marina del Rey to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Large crowds came out to watch the tank as it rolled through closed city streets.
