On Jan. 28th, the students of Earth to Sky Calculus flew a batch of rose
seeds to the stratosphere. The seeds went aloft inside a standard
Space Weather Buoy, nestled alongside our radiation sensors, GPS
trackers, and cryogenic thermometer. En route to the edge of space, the
seeds experienced cosmic radiation levels, temperatures and pressures
akin to those on the planet Mars. What kind of roses will these "space
seeds" produce?
The payload landed on the
east side of the White Mountains, on a ridge overlooking McAfee Canyon.
Guess who bought these seeds. Yeah...Me.
Planning Process:
Got my seeds
Put them in water for an hour.
Into the fridge for four weeks
This evening I put the seeds in my small greenhouse.
Follow the progress of my space roses on Mickes Space.
